Algorithms and Intuition as Tools for Employees Well-Being within Organisations

Organizations in search of productivity improvements leading to increased profitability, strive to improve qualitative dimensions of the organization by means of algorithms, common sense, and in many cases, brainstorming.

However, these organizational dimensions cannot be accurately determined in this way. The human being is a complex figure of emotions, feelings, and purposes that cannot be measured by statistical methods and ideas, without valid support from the point of view of scientific rationality.

Organizations’ implementation of recreation areas, relaxing massage rooms, and even existential psychological counseling, make up an accumulation of ideas without any positive results. Labour force desertion and indifference, apparently inexplicable resignations, are expressed in ever-increasing numbers, accompanied by growing recruitment costs for the organizations.

Knowing the reasons for the employee’s permanence in the company requires access to or knowledge of a complex reality that can only be achieved in a qualitative way. Fortunately, the new management has the cognitive resources to solve this problem that currently burdens the human resources areas in organizations. This is known as Gerencia Cientifica (Scientific Management).
